Someone certainly has an idealistic, not to mention totally ludicrous, idea of what lawyers are and do.

As I have been saying for the last two days, “Give my regards to Broadway, Luann.”

There are actually lawyers that have dedicated their lives (and education) to helping the repressed in the world.

Anticipating a number of comments about Luann and acting, actually, it would not be surprising if Tiffany went into that. (Ouch.)

At least Luann won’t be saddled with a huge mountain of student debts like the other two will…

Lawyers, dentists and veterinarians are all getting to be so commonplace there isn’t enough work to go around

She didn’t finish. Lawyers make poor people better than GM makes cars.

Lucky Luann – she will invite the financially strapped Delta and Bernice to her $500 million mansion and have them rub shoulders with the celebs.

Yes on both counts for Luann.

Someone obviously knows about Morris Dees, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Innocence Project and other “idealistic” organizations.

So, Bernice (idealist that she is) and Delta look forward to job satisfaction, while they expect Luann to attain wealth!? Well, I suppose it could happen that way….

You’re thinking of “The Court of Last Resort” which gained attention due to its involvement in the infamous Sam Shepherd case.
But Erle Stanley Gardner didn’t wait to retire – he was bored with legal routine (except for trial strategy) and took to writing pulp fiction and the Perry Mason series in his 40’s and was so successful he quit the law.
“Court” was actually a TV show that he co-produced in the 50’s, with a crime drama format that dramatized possible miscarriages of justice, but it grew out of a group that Gardner organized that included medical investigators, a handwriting expert, a polygraph examiners, the former head of the American Academy of Scientific Investigators, and the former warden of the Walla Walla State Penitentiary.
They did get new trials for several prisoners and at least one that I know of was found innocent, but they pretty much sank under the burden of trying to figure out which cases they were flooded with had merit and which didn’t.

So is Stephen Bright, who heads the Southern Center for Human Rights – and hates Dees’ guts. Lawyers both.

Tiffany will wind up working truck stops or the Chicken Ranch. With her lack of talent, even the casting couch would be no help. But Luann and Aussie Boy would make a couple to draw to.
