That’s the ghost of Ronald Reagan handing out that explosive, as for many folks still trying to pay off those debts from years gone by.

    Wow Lisa,
    It’s Obama’s fault?
He sets the cost of college education everywhere in the US?
Who knew? Time for another stupid republican investigation!
    Stupid toon., really stupid.

“Obama is to Blame” is the mantra of every right leaning cartoonist. Benson is consistent in her limited ability to see complexity or truth in issues. Unimaginative, uncreative and obviously devoid of any validity.

    Obama is to blame
    Hi Ho the Derry Oh
    Obama is to blame

Yeah, really. Especially for decisions on funding made by Congress fifteen years ago.

The cost of college isn’t Obama’s fault, at least to the extent that he hasn’t fought for higher education to be completely subsidized. But what is his fault is high interest rates of loans. While criminal bankers can get essentially free money, the government is making billions off the backs of students and meanwhile fostering a culture where people who work for a living, from fast food workers to white collar, are being beat up by those who work in finance, etc., aided and abetted by the government, including Obama and his Goldman-Sachs cronies. So, he’s making us pay high rates and then he’s encouraging the parties who would give us jobs to outsource or pit us against each other in a race to the bottom. There’s a lot Obama could do to make it better. Give students access to the same rates that bankers get.

This is Obama’s fault? Come on, Lisa. Vote out the RepubliCons and the Anarchists. The fix is one thorough overhaul of Congress away; we can get back to passing young folks a future instead of time bombs.

In the face of this Congress? That’s fantasy talking. They refuse to even fund the VA or military, and somehow that’s Obama’s fault too.

    Which is a good thing,

However while running for Senate she decried the high cost of college tuition……while making $150,000 per semester at Harvard – - – for teaching a single course per semester.

The liberals just can’t see that the fact that the cost of a university education is more than the amount most families can pay cash for, forcing them to take out loans, is entirely Obama’s fault.

Back in the ‘60s, it cost less than $500 a year in tuition and fees in Texas if the student went to a state university or college close enough that the student could live at home, so any family could afford a university education without taking out a loan if the student worked part time after classes. But then Obama was born.

Now it costs more most families can afford, even if the student works after school, to pay for that university education without taking out a loan, and any one with any sense can clearly see that’s all Obama’s fault, and only Obama’s fault.

In addition, the financial crisis only started when businesses could see that Obama was going to be elected, and since then, most new graduates have been unable to get the kinds of jobs where they earn enough to pay off those loans.

Very appropriate cartoon pointing this out.

While I respect your thoughts and ideas I think you are giving way too much power to this President, or any President for that matter. CONgress sets the subsidies for student loans and other policies that affect the economy. All the President can do is ask CONgress for a bill achieving the President’s agenda and hope that CONgress will follow through. But with the unilateral, near unanimous opposition to this President by the republicans I feel that you are wrong to solely blame this President for the ills. Dont’ get me wrong, President ?Obama has many failings, but it is CONgress and the republicans especially that are thwarting credible measures to improve society. If Obama does not try then yes he is solely to blame, but if he asks and is rebuffed by the republicans, then no he is not to blame, at least not solely. And President Obama has called to task the CONgress on the issue of the costs of higher education.
    .
I am sorry, but I think you are simply off base to solely blame President Obama for the cost of higher education. I do however greatly appreciate and respect your willingness to be civil and respectful, thank you.

What’s a “liberal education?” One where you are taught to actually think for yourself?

It is all matter of priorities people.

And whose priorities do you think we are suffering under? Who started the wars that have cost us trillions in treasure and thousands of lives? Money that could have been spent improving things here at home, except that is soshulizm. But when treasure is squandered on (unecessary, illegal and lied about) wars somehow it is “Patriotic.” It’s all about priorities, and you can bet your sweet bippy you are not intended to benefit from one of their priorities.
