That’s the ghost of Ronald Reagan handing out that explosive, as for many folks still trying to pay off those debts from years gone by.

    Wow Lisa,
    It’s Obama’s fault?
He sets the cost of college education everywhere in the US?
Who knew? Time for another stupid republican investigation!
    Stupid toon., really stupid.

“Obama is to Blame” is the mantra of every right leaning cartoonist. Benson is consistent in her limited ability to see complexity or truth in issues. Unimaginative, uncreative and obviously devoid of any validity.

The cost of college isn’t Obama’s fault, at least to the extent that he hasn’t fought for higher education to be completely subsidized. But what is his fault is high interest rates of loans. While criminal bankers can get essentially free money, the government is making billions off the backs of students and meanwhile fostering a culture where people who work for a living, from fast food workers to white collar, are being beat up by those who work in finance, etc., aided and abetted by the government, including Obama and his Goldman-Sachs cronies. So, he’s making us pay high rates and then he’s encouraging the parties who would give us jobs to outsource or pit us against each other in a race to the bottom. There’s a lot Obama could do to make it better. Give students access to the same rates that bankers get.

This is Obama’s fault? Come on, Lisa. Vote out the RepubliCons and the Anarchists. The fix is one thorough overhaul of Congress away; we can get back to passing young folks a future instead of time bombs.

The liberals just can’t see that the fact that the cost of a university education is more than the amount most families can pay cash for, forcing them to take out loans, is entirely Obama’s fault.

Back in the ‘60s, it cost less than $500 a year in tuition and fees in Texas if the student went to a state university or college close enough that the student could live at home, so any family could afford a university education without taking out a loan if the student worked part time after classes. But then Obama was born.

Now it costs more most families can afford, even if the student works after school, to pay for that university education without taking out a loan, and any one with any sense can clearly see that’s all Obama’s fault, and only Obama’s fault.

In addition, the financial crisis only started when businesses could see that Obama was going to be elected, and since then, most new graduates have been unable to get the kinds of jobs where they earn enough to pay off those loans.

Very appropriate cartoon pointing this out.

The average college graduate pays about $5800 more a year in federal taxes than the average high school graduate. Over 30 years, that totals about $172,000. If that’s divided by the 4 years it takes to get a college education, the government would break even if it paid every student $42,000 a year to attend school. This doesn’t even consider that with the degree, the person is less likely to ever need unemployment or welfare, that more students would complete high school if they could see a clear way to a really good job, and that they would be enriching the Social Security and Medicare funds. They would also be paying a larger amount in all other types of taxes. And they would be buying more products which would boost the economy, and put more people to work at jobs that require all different levels of education. The best investment we could make to keep America strong is to not just forgive all student loans but to make all higher education, as long as the student is making decent grades, totally free, and increase the number of schools and teachers to make room for all who can profit from the education. We don’t, even at a time of high unemployment, have so much a lack of jobs as we have a lack of people who have the skills to perform the jobs that are available- in other words, a lack of education.

The student loan debet is because of liberal hacks at college’s hand inding out deploma’s for for ruffly the equivalent of an eighth grade education in the 50’s and 60’s while making big bucks for doing next to nothing.Well they are doing a good job of dumbing down the young folks.Other wise no one would ever vote for the national socialist democrat party.
