Did anyone else read where these evil bastards used pressure cookers as the containment vessels for the explosives?

Pressure cookers are dangerous and should only be used by trained professionals. Why would any ordinary citizen want or need a pressure cooker. I think we should legislate an end to Pressure cookers. If we can’t do that, at a minimum we should limit the capacity of the pressure cooker and the shape. Because if the Pressure cooker’s shape looks like the kind used by professionals it must be extra dangerous.

To all of you who would use this tragedy to take away my Pressure cooker – Back off.

Now don’t you feel silly anti-second amendment people. Motivated evil people can kill without a gun.

I doubt whoever did this had to cross our borders to get here. I’m afraid this one was home grown. Probably some home grown pressure cooker nut afraid he’d have to respect other peoples rights.

When pressure cookers are outlawed, only outlaws will have pressure cookers. Don’t you libs know anything? CRIMINALS DON"T RESPECT THE LAW!

Our borders are fine. It’s the people on this side who are creating most of our problems.

You can kill people with shoestrings too, but that doesn’t change the fact that tens of thousands of Americans are killed and maimed by bullets fired from guns by people of all kinds every year.

to say that show you nothing about our borders.

So now we add other items to our list of bans: Pressure cookers, folks, knives, Styrofoam cups, and plastic and paper bags.
Soon we will be back to the Garden of Eden with no clothes or modern items. HMMM, not a bad thought!

    @Kevin Robinson

You do realize that our borders are much more secure under Obama than they were under Bush, don’t you? A more than doubling of spending, a more than doubling of border guards, a more than doubling of patrols? Or do you believe the tripe over at Fox news rather than actual facts? There is NO credible evidence that this was carried out by someone who snuck in, and that’s an incredibly far-fetched scenario. Why bring pressure cookers from Mexico? You can buy them at Walmart.

It’s not the pressure cookers that were brought through the border, it’s the terrorists. That’s long been my concern, and still is.

    @ All:
Can we please have one day of civility? Let’s not get into an e-peen measuring contest of who’s right and who’s to blame.

oh oh oh…you really said THAT? Hey, I get it. You want to promote your opinion as gospel like the rest of us. So.

You say this stuff (which I agree with):

“It has long been established that evil will find a way. In this case it was using an item for a purpose for which it was not intended.”

    and then this"

" When used for its deigned purpose the pressure cooker is perfectly safe and prepares wonderful meals."

Now know that you are against anyone owning any type of gun since you said this:

“When used for it’s designed purpose a firearm, any firearm, results in death and destruction.”

Why don’t we just think about the designer and ask this question.

Are guns “designed” and sold for the express purpose of killing children in schools?

OR are they designed with the express purpose of preventing others from indiscriminate violent crime?

We know the “evil will find a way” so how are we to stop evil if we are helpless sheep? Wait for the “professionals” to arrive? The wolf has fed well before the Shepard can drive him off.

Anyway, all that stuff Mephistopholes said was simple sarcasm. Get a grip

I got the same e-mail. My response was: So you think that we should become more like the Iranians, the Chinese, The Saudis, the Venezuelans, and the Cubans? I never got a reply.

And, yes, my post about pressure cookers was sarcasm. It’s the same words used about the reason not to make or enforce any gun laws: criminals won’t respect the law, so why have any?

@TrustedMechanic – Looks like I tapped into some rage there.

I will point out that calling me names (Ignorant Ass) doesn’t make my sarcasm any less biting or pertinent.

You don’t like guns – I get that. Personally I’m too cheap to buy one and to lazy to maintain one so I don’t judge you for not approving of them and I don’t really care whether you like them or not.

What I do judge is anybody who would take my rights away so that THEY can feel more safe and secure. That is the antithesis of Freedom and an error many Americans seem willing to make when it isn’t their ox being gored.

Don’t pat yourself on the back too hard for being more enlightened then those of us that mistrust the political process when it comes to our rights.

You see know useful or socially redeemable purpose for firearms – Now who’s ignorant. I’ll list off several: Hunting for food, the camraderie of target practice, farmers killing varmits that our raiding their chicken coops, etc. You make the foolish assumption that if you can’t think of it off the top of your head then nobody else will either.

Lighten up – The tradgedy was terrible and I hope they keep Hell hot for the perpetrators. But I didn’t see you openly condeming the anti-gun nuts who came out of the woodwork when the School shooting took place.

@ansonia: this was my point. Showing us how “advanced” the Iranians are is not germaine to our situation.

I agree that our country has many issues to improve upon, but holding up rogue or repressive regimes as examples of how we can improve may not be the wisest move. But I understand how my point could have been misunderstood.
