These things happen when you invade the middle east hornets nest without an exit strategy.

Hey Mr. President, what was your golf score today? Handicap? Might as well take an interest since that’s all he’s good for…

Lawrence convinced all Iraqis—Kurds, Sunni, Shi’a, Wheys—to fight the Ottomans, and the Arab defeat of the Ottomans meant they went from being enslaved in an Ottoman colony to being free in a British or French colony.

    Iraq was a British colonyMandate.

In the Raj, everyone wanted to be his own country, and figured, since that wasn’t possible, the Brits were the second-best choice, better than another Indian from a different sect or language or caste. So just 10,000 British Imperial Officers were able to rob 400 million Indians blind.

Sykes and Picot hoped to form tiny bits of Arabia that fit the model of the Raj. But, while they could agree on nothing else, everyone in Iraq fought to get the Europeans out of Iraq. And they all fought to get rid of the Coalition forces.

Here’s my brilliantly conceived exit strategy, (1) Get out. (2) Pay reparations. (3) Put everyone responsible for this debacle on trial for war crimes.

Could also have an American military presence in every country around the world so they adhere to our values and maintain stability.

Which values would those be? The ones we profess, or the ones we practice?

    That just complicates stuff.
