A favorite rejoinder concerning many topics used by our illustrious university educated folks posting on this site is “correlation does not equal causation” ……

In the article, one question asked was “have you ever seen someone die from an overdose of beer” ….. well ….. yes, I have. In fact, if you researched the cause of death in many traffic accidents one would find alcohol as “the only drug in their system” as is stated about marijuana in the cited article.

I did not know that smoking pot could move the opening of the urethra from the tip of one’s penis to the underside, no matter how much you smoke (hypospadias).

So maybe these 37 people had pre existing conditions that were the actual cause of the cardiac arrests and/or contributed to organ failure (which would then produce the “fishy smell” as trimethylamine is released during body degradation).

Just because you do not agree with what people do does not mean that you should keep them from doing it against their will.

If it does not pick your pocket or do you physical harm then mind your own business.

    Relax, it is a joke.
Nobody died from smoking marijuana, get a grip.

I would say you are wrong. It appears that at a minimum a few people a year die from illiness related to marijuana use. For example, the Maori of New Zealand are some of the heaviest cannibus users per capita on the planet, do not generally use tobacco, and they have one of the highest lung cancer rates of a distinct population group there is.
Marijuana smoked is a carcenogin just as tobacco is. Both produce most of the same byproducts of combustion and are inhaled into the lungs.
Yes, people generally smoke less marijuana per time period than cigarettes but that doesn’t change the potential health hazard except by degree.
So, claims that marijuana is “safe” are non-sense. It has hazards associated with its use just like alcohol or tobacco does. I think with legalization it will become clear this is indeed the case.

Michael and Sherlock, you really believe everything you read on the internet, don’t you, as long as it conforms to your preconceived prejudices. If that fake story were true, it would have been in at least one newspaper in Colorado. Google “pot overdoses in Colorado” to find the true story about the latest in a long string of literally unbelievable hoaxes that have fooled gullible conservatives.

    To all forum posters:

I like flies getting caught in webs spun by … others. It’s far more fun to watch; let’s not warn the prey or tip their hand. Why spoil the fun.

Well, at least this toon recognizes we who go for Lay’s potato chips, instead of those ghastly “Fritos”. Which, in backpacking trips we did carry them as fire starter, for which they work great!

How many have died due to radical conservatives starting wars against countries that did nothing to us? (While ignoring those nice Saudis that “W” literally kissed up to ?)

You can die from an overdose of alcohol.
You can die from an overdose of tobacco, its a deadly poison.
You will not die from an overdose of pot.

A tobacco store moved to a new location, leaving a shell of a building. The front was open except forvan iron gate. Through the gate, a woman picked tobacco leaves she thought were edible greens. She cooked and ate them. She died from tobacco poison.
