    Boehner thinks HE is President, and THAT is a big part of the problem.

    So the Republicans got their aces kicked and they haven’t learned a thing.

    Didn’t bone head say he was going to cooperate right after the election? Republicans speak with forked tounge.

    I used to live in Boehner’s district. He’s a racist, misogynistic bully who never admits to error or defeat. He’d sell his own mother if he thought it would buy him another vote.

    The GOP still hasn’t even admitted that Iraq was a mistake. They can’t admit that the Bush tax cuts were a mistake. They can’t admit that they lost the election for actual policy positions. They’ve gotten themselves into a corner where if they admit that they learned something, they get primaried from the right and thrown out in favor of someone who never admits mistakes. I honestly think the only way the party will change is as the old ones die off and are replaced by new people who can bring a new idea with them. We just need to be better at educating our children so they don’t believe this garbage.

    How about Congress ( the people) makes the laws and the POTUS executes the laws… what a novel thought.

    Where are you getting that?
    Boehner still represents Republicans. He needs to do what Republicans want him to do.

    What specifically haven’t they learned?

    @Radish

    What does “cooperation” mean to you?
    Obama gets his way on everything?

    I don’t like Boehner either.
    But those are serious personal attacks on him. Could you link us to articles that support those? Or is it just an opinion based on hatred?

    @ARodney

    Why admit to things that aren’t true?

    .
    That many parts of the Republican agenda they ran on and were defeated are not acceptable to the majority of the American people. To name one item – Higher taxes on the rich are necessary to finance such things as infrastructure spending, health care, education, and research and development. Stuff to get Americans back to work and to advance the nation.

    “We don’t happen to think that the government needs more revenue. Government spends too much as it is,” McConnell said on the Senate floor Thursday. But he added that if Democrats are willing to agree to reform entitlement programs, “we’ll be there.”
    .
    Boehner on Wednesday acknowledged a “spirit of cooperation” between the two sides of the aisle in the House and the president, and he said he would remain optimistic. But as he’s done every time he’s publicly addressed the issue, the speaker restated his opposition to allowing any tax rates to go up.

    Republicans are in the minority but want to control everything.
