Give them another 20 years and they’ll be able to input directly into the base of the brain and then they’ll REALLY tell us what we think. And because we’ll be able to play vid games better, watch tv more interactively, and socially network more efficiently, humans will pay for the privilege. Forget the matrix, we have the NETWORK.
Ok, I’ll put my aluminum foil hat away now.

Very soon we will insert chips into all newborns. No more lost children.
The number on the chip will be our phone, healthcare, social security, citizenship status, bank account,.
Life will be so much easier then.

“Baby boomer Bush did all he could to destroy America.”

I’m by no means a Bush supporter, but let’s be honest. The Democrats rolled over and played along with most of what he did. They voted for the so called Patriot Act and for invading Iraq. I don’t care if the Republicans seemingly painted them into a corner. Democrats could have stood up as a group for what is right, but no. Only a precious few had the balls to vote no.

I’m not exactly sure why everyone is so upset about this one. What is the most the NSA could do if they had the technology to read a fingerprint scanner from your phone? Make a copy and leave it on the gun of a political assassin? Maybe, if you live in a Philip K Dick novel.
Your fingerprint does not impart any more data than you already give out when you apply for the phone. Now, if someone steals it and jailbreaks it, the thief can be identified when they make a call, since the iPhone has an internal SIM card. Before, they could be tracked, but now a name can be applied to them immediately, assuming they have a criminal record or have been fingerprinted as a child. I have had to use fingerprint identification for years, and have yet to have any “jack-booted thugs” show up at my door. (at least not since 2004…)

I spent a chunk of my electronics career dealing with Electromagnetic Interference. The “Tin Foil Hat” idea isn’t all that crazy, just not applied properly. :-)

Hmm, folks do realize that for some time the technology has been around to prevent a gun from firing if the print on the trigger finger doesn’t match the legitimate owners, right?

But, using prints as “security” on a phone seems stupid. Especially stupid any more is the fact you can do almost anything on a “smart phone”, but make a clear connection and TALK to someone!!! (However, my new hearing aids have blue tooth, and feeding my cell calls through that does make the calls MUCH clearer than through those crappy little speakers, even on “speaker” phone.)
