Sshhhh, don’t tell the righties, but the toon calls it right. Let’s hope they get the “paperwork phase” straightened out, because the states that are cooperating are making pretty good progress. The REAL problems are 1. didn’t get single payer, and 2. CONTRACTING, that’s basically taken over since Reagan, is just another fine mess you got us into, Ronnie.

Yeah,I know, some other fixes need to be made as well, but the first fix needs to be getting all the TEA out of the Congressional pot next November. Rational Republicans are welcome, but please, leave the kids home in day care, where they belong.

    44,000?? Says who?
Why not just say 4 million if you’re gonna make up numbers.
I didn’t have health insurance for 20 years, yet hear I am.
People have the right (or used to) to choose if they wanted to spend money on health insurance or not.
I thought you were pro-choice for people to do what they want with their bodies Jim?

I’m not dead so nobody else is? Interesting logic. The American Journal of Public Health publishes the numbers, if your ideology admits numbers. I mean this isn’t the Glen Gold Rush Standard Fox ’News."

    “I didn’t have health insurance for 20 years, yet hear(sic) I am.”
I’ve had homeowners insurance for more than 20 years and have yet to use it, that’s how insurance works.

The poor already qualify for Medicaid or they can go to public clinics.

You’re joking, right? Not all communities have a public clinic, and those that do will likely find their public clinic can only handle basic care.

For a year, a friend’s doctor missed the fact that she had pneumonia. When it was discovered, she was driven to a hospital 45 minutes away where she stayed for over two months. Her public assistance insurance had a very low cap on it. She was eventually forced to declare bankruptcy due to the massive medical bill she was stuck with.

A public clinic isn’t able to help a case like hers.

    .
Really? Then why do we need anything else, for anyone else? Let’s close down all but the clinics you noted and every one go there. You may also be in favor of the republican plan; don’t get sick, and if you do, die quickly.

If liberal Democrats can make up numbers, so can I. The latest statistic: 882,000 is the number of deaths from people stressing out over how to pay for the unafordable Obamacare.

‘If obamacare was the answer to 44,000 people dying each year, it would be wildly more popular’
    -
Not among Republicans. Most of them are, you know, those people.

Harley, tell us again about how “us American” are going to have to pay for it. Not, you know, those people who are not real Americans.

The ACA disallows providers from capping benefits. Her plan would have been required to continue paying the hospital bill at the same rate. She would have still been stuck with a large bill, but there would have been a far greater chance she could have eventually paid it off. There is a massive difference between owing nearly $200,000 and owing $30,000.

Republicans are just fine with any number people dying because they cannot get health care. They don’t want those people getting health care.
    -
That’s why they are trying everything they can to sabotage the ACA.
