Must be a commutable eye disease. Seems like the majority of the legislature has problems seeing that eye chart. Symptoms may vary, but the results are the same. It is good for a certain level of focus and commentary be made when politicians ‘lose sight’ of their duties and obligations to the electorate over the donor. It does seem that the kind of violations Mr. Menendez may have committed reoccur every few years.
Good cartoon well presented. I doubt any thing worse than a censure will occur, but hopefully, Mr. Menendez’s voters will give this more attention than past offenders have received.
Respectfully,
C.

Mr Menendez’s voters will probably think, “He may be a crook but he’s OUR crook (and bringing home the bacon).” Isn’t that how the typical U S voter thinks? That’s why this country is so screwed up, they’re all “OUR crooks”.

That’s every elected official.

Here’s a perfect example of where a sensible Republican could fill in a tainted blank in the Senate. Too bad there’s no such thing as a sensible Republican.

@Chillbilly
Sensible Republican’s have a problem winning primaries.

@ScottPM
No, the problem is candidates like Mourdock taking down Sen. Lugar because he was too liberal.

Can ANY politicians read or care about ethics?!
pirate227 said, 3 months ago
Senate… ethics? LOL!
Rockngolfer said, 3 months ago
The main reason this Menendez story is making headlines is because he is a Democrat.
We are so used to Republicans with wide stances, etc, etc that they barely draw attention anymore.

Yup, “Duke” Cunningham, all the “Watergate” crew, Iran-Contra folks, were the epitome of “ethics” in Republican circles, still being practiced today. ANY elected official CONVICTED should be nailed, but ACCUSATIONS aren’t the same thing. And yes, Nixon’s, and Reagan’s criminals WERE convicted, but “sprung” by Reagan appointed “judges” with even less ethical spine.

WOW, a comment from you that isn’t filled with hate and liberal/President Obama bashing. A comment from you I agree with.
To quote Orthodox Catholic, “Now I know Jesus is returning this week!!”

You mean like rush encouraged repubbies to do? Sorry when it comes to underhanded, immoral and devious acts the republicans have the corner on that. The Democrats have to play catch up to the republicans when it comes to sinking into the sewer.

That is why it was speculated by a guest on NPR the last few days that no congress-critter will look too hard into Menendez’ “indiscretions.” Light is the best disinfectant to corruption. Like cockroaches they all scatter when the light comes on.

It’s not about money, politics is about power. They all become millionaires if they hold the party line. If they don’t fall in lockstep they go nowhere and lose their post.
