If there’s one thing everybody has in common, it’s getting older. From newborn babies to baby boomers, there’s no escaping it. “Gray Matters” is skewed to that vast generation of boomers. But since getting older means adapting to changing circumstances, lots of readers, old and young alike, can relate to and laugh along with our characters. Don’t let the name of the strip throw you. The cast of “Gray Matters” is anything but colorless as they struggle to keep up with the rapid changes in society, culture, technology, the workplace, their families and, of course, their bodies.

A tiny camera ….. love to tell the gullible that back in the day it was a Polaroid camera and when the flash bulb went off the pain was incredible.

The worst part of a colonoscopy is the “cleansing” the day before.

yeah, you have to drink a huge amount of this nasty tasting crap so you can crap out all your crap. but for the procedure, they knock you out, and when you wake up, it’s done. a walk in the park. i’m in my 70s and have had about a half dozen. one time my throat was a tiny bit raw from the camera, but that was all i ever “suffered” discomfort-wise.

By the time you drink the cleaner you have been on a liquid diet for a day so it should all be liquid on the way out. The actual procedure was great because I was knocked out before they did it. Upon awakening 20 minutes later I was still out and felt no after affects. Was hungry though.

That’s a little different than the way I had it. I was wide awake when they did mine & I didn’t feel a thing going in or out. I watched the Doctor cut out a few Polyps and I barely felt the Nurse clean me up. Two hours later I was at “Chris Madrid’s”(1900 Blanco Road,S.A.) Burger joint & let me tell you,in San Antonio, you can’t get a better burger!

I was awake during my colonoscopy. Got to watch in live and in HD. I even asked to doctor questions as he worked.
