    My wife is helping an organization get through an upcoming audit. It should be easy, she can just tell them to say everything is correct here and plead the 5th.

    “Atlas Shrugged” will be my reply…

    Interesting thing that I found out. Now, I’m not certain how much truth there is to this, but the IRS agent when asking you questions during an audit is allowed one question without your consent. The rest has to be entirely voluntary.

    “Now, I’m not certain how much truth there is to this,…” What a great statement! Should be required of the rest of the conservatives on this blog.

    Almost nothing says “I’m guilty” like pleading the fifth.

    How could a list of donors help to re-elect Obama? I’m sure there was a list of Obama donors in possession of the Romney camp.

    Sooner or later, someone on the right needs to realize that many Obama voters did so because they couldn’t stand to vote for Mitt Romney. Not every Obama voter is a “taker”, nor do they want to ruin America or turn it communist.

    I have absolutely no problem with that. The more ultra conservative elements on here keep saying that I am a liberal, although that is not true at all. What I truly am is an apolitical technocrat, that in actually owes allegiance to no particular political party! I tend to vote one way or the other depending on the particular issue. Unfortunately, that is relatively impossible when voting for individuals, especially when most politicians on both sides of the political spectrum seem to be fully trained liars!

    On this particular issue, I would be perfectly happy to see all such exemptions (regardless of political affinity) revoked! Why should ordinary middle class workers be paying much of their hard earned money to the federal government in payroll taxes, when such organizations as churches (which often are not only not spiritual in nature, but often then take actual political stands on issues they have no business taking in the first place) get away without paying any taxes, even local property taxes!!

    Why do you ask?

    @ ARod: That should be the case of the rest of the posters on this blog. lol. Both liberals and conservatives throw opinion as fact from time to time.

    Strange too since it is a valid 5th Amendment protection. I would expect everyone regardless of party to agree on that.

    Which questions need to be asked? Shouldn’t you tell us what wasn’t covered before?

    @Robert Landers

    Churches paying taxes doesn’t interfere with their 1st Amendment right. So not paying taxes is bogus. Much of what they do isn’t charitable, it is business.
