I’ve signed up to a no “junkmail” list and refused to accept Royalmail’s own junkmail service called “direct mail”. When our postman pleaded with me to accept it as their livelyhood depended on it, I said I already supported Royalmail by sending back empty postage prepaid envelopes from companies that have made it past my “no junkmail” or are from companies I have services with but often send me “offers” I don’t care about.
What I liked about the US postal service was the fact the postman picks up your mail from your doorstep. While over there on one my trips someone explained to me what the little flag on your mailboxes meant. Quite cool, any other countries do that?
But perhaps they might make a few savings if you guys actually walked to a centralised postbox and posted your letters yourself? Or would we benefit from a similar collection strategy and make cost savings that way?
