    As long as you’re having a good time. That’s the main thing.

    I guess the trade-off for “Featured Comment” is that little emoji next to the subscriber number. I tried to copy and paste it inside this comment, but the little blue head* with four supernumerary heads would have none of it. To help square things in my mind, I’m pretending that the emoji head has 31, 267 supernumerary heads (at the moment). A few heads may drop off, like ripe coconuts pounding the beach, but… well.

    Yeah, the old newspaper-age comics should’ve mostly been used for wrapping up some fish and chips. Trying to do the same with gocomics would just be messy.

    Many of my mornings are steeped in ennui. But Frog Applause, with its pointed lack of didacticism, fixes me right up. For what, I’m not completely sure, but I let it carry me, in sort of a Zen tide.

    “The mass of frogs lead lives of chronic disappointment. What we call popularity is congealed disappointment. Jumping from the boiling city to boiling country, you console yourself with the feral avoidance of skink and anole. A stereotyped but unconscious ‘meh’ is concealed even under the games and amusements of newsweb folk. There is no fun in them, for it is only unpaid work. But it is a characteristic of amphibians not to do disappointing things.”

    - Henly Ribbit Thoreau: Well Done Frog

    I used to criticize other people for being platitudinous until it was pointed out to me that I am just as bad as they are.

    You all know my extreme distaste for “Featured Comment.” Well, now that it is back, and even worse, because one cannot open the Replies under it (trying to do so just jerks me back and forth like a murderer attempting to throttle the life-force out of me), I dislike it even more.

    As if reading the comics wasn’t boring, didactic, platitudinous enough, now the comics are trying to kill me! That’s really lame!

    The only thing worse than a new feature we don’t need, is when that new feature starts misfiring. When I click on the replies under the “Featured Comment” I’m sent to the blog. And don’t get me started on that blog— the same comics talked about over and over. Garfield? Marmaduke? Really? It’s okay that some newish stuff is talked about, but it’s the same newish stuff. Can anyone say that they’ve seen a single mention of FA or s sample strip of Frog Applause whenever there is a blog theme. It’s as though the blog writers have their favorites or their legacy strips and ignore everyone else. I used to be able to uclick from the first comic to the last comic where I was able to discover new comics easily, now it’s a frustrating process that requires too much time, effort, and extra back clicking. No wonder people have jumped ship. There’s only so much a person can take. I hope this ends up as the “Featured Comment” if only to prove how ridiculous it is to feature a comment that slams the latest unasked for site change.

    I think it’s called Stan Marsh Syndrome, after a character on the South Park television show. The development and treatment of it are the subject of a two part story arc that covers episodes seven and eight of season fifteen.

    @Sisyphos (since I couldn’t reply directly below your comment … )

    Yeah—the new functionality with the “Featured Comment” ain’t good. I don’t mind the “F.C.” in general, but not being able to view replies is not cool. You listening, GoComics?

    See koomiks pole absoluutselt igav! Seriously, this has to be the first time EVER I’ve seen Estonian in an English comic strip. Awesome!
