    that or put a red neon light inside it. (They don’t generate much heat, which is why modelers used to use them for movie models.) That would be a good effect.
    .
    When I was in high school, I painted the inside of a jack-o-lantern black, took a couple of 5/8" red neon lights and put them a few inches behind the eye sockets.

    how about using artificial “snow.” something that will retain its shape and structure, even lit on fire. or, douse the snow balrog in flame retardant and light it up.
