Pulitzer Prize editorial cartoonist Signe Wilkinson spread her wings and created Family Tree, allowing her to write and draw outside the left/right, headline-driven box of daily editorial cartooning. A contemporary family comic strip, it chronicles the humorous challenges that Ames, Maggie, Twig and Teddy encounter when trying to live "green" and with environmental purpose.

Actually they could screw it up. They could decide that kids should not be raised by their families and relatives, and instead be raised by total strangers in order to increase loyalty to society instead of the family. The bad part is, I ran accross a book in non-fiction yesterday that actually suggested doing this.

If you want to teach, you start by getting a degree, taking courses from people who have never taught a student less than 18 years old. Then you are supervised and evaluated by people who have no experience teaching what you teach to children. The higher it gets, the worse it gets. No wonder education is failing!

It’s already happening in the UK, where the state has removed two foster kids from a house because the parents are conservatives. What will be the state’s next move because it thinks it knows best?
