It's the End of Civilization as we know it. A mutagenic plague followed by a global war fought with disintegration weaponry has left much of the Earth a desert of fine powder and what remains of humanity fragmented into humans, animal-like mutants and bloodthirsty monstrosities with lots of teeth. The surface, still teeming with the mutagenic virus, has become the domain of the dreaded Topsiders; well-organized, technologically advanced, and heavily armed un-mutated humans sworn to exterminate mutations of any kind in order to clear the way for the eventual resurgence of a new, genetically clean humanity. Faced with annihilation, mutants and "impure" humans have retreated into the depths of the planet to form communities and hope to win, or at least survive, what may prove to be mankind's final war. Endtown is the continuing story of one of those communities.

Hey Hey Hey — it’s Albert!
And someone’s gonna get hurt
But with he and Gustine
(Both big heart and big mean)
Might cause their plans to di-vert
Yet he’s shown here in juxtaposition
As if in “compromising position”
If he’s somehow involved
Might be hard to get solved…
Wouldn’t that be an odd proposition?

Any system can be rigged, that’s why checks and balances are necessary.

No big shock is it. This is a machine. Control unknown.
Possible that they have been invaded by Top Siders and they are the ones who want the water to run like blood.
This has nothing to do with Wally, Holly, Mauve or Linda. This is a totally different attack on the Endtown Ouch!!
Blessed Be.

Those who think they can remain “human” and attempt to force others to do as they believe would act as Topsiders.

Well We now know who the one dissenter was in the nearly unanimous vote that the high council is doing a wonderful job, they should vote themselves a pay raise due to their wonderful performance review. After all if their plan goes through there will be less people in Endtown.
I wonder how anonymous it is when they start pushing forward the ideals they have vocally pushed when not on the council. I wonder if one of the other council members is Jacob Jackrabbit.

If Al is on the council, all is not lost!

I only see a yes and a no voting button. I guess there is no way to abstain.

@IsshouFuuraibou
Jake is NOT on the council unless he was another dissenter. The vote to me looked like either 8-2 or 7-3. I personally doubt Jake is on the council as he would have been much more vocal than Al.

Albert doesn’t know who they are, but they know who he is; and that he doesn’t agree with them. So far just about all of the characters we have come to know as protagonists have been neutralized by the plotters. Things have gone from making a cake to pending major strife. I find myself nearing the edge of my seat again.

“Albert doesn’t know who they are, but they know who he is;”
Maybe, maybe not. If he didn’t give out his name, all the other anti-perverts will only know him as “not one of us”. Unless whoever rigged the random selections passed Al’s name on to them.

This strip tells us a lot about how the HC works. One, they take turns acting as foreman. Two, the foreman can interface with outsiders (like the mayor) to present a single presence. Three, the foreman can put topics up for vote and then pass orders on to the rats. Four, abstaining just means that you don’t press the Yes or No buttons.
