Speaking of Reverend Sloan, has anyone besides me ever confused him for Rick? I mean, he looks just like Rick would, if Rick ever got his head stuck in and yanked out of a metal pipe…maybe they’re twins somehow.

Never confused Rick and Rev. Sloan, but have confused Jeff with the rear end of his steed Petreaus.

From context there has never been any doubt which is which, but yes, I, too, have felt that they look very much alike.

    yesterday…….“turd colored glasses”? Really?
A different colored metaphor might have been more effective.

a “soul crushing monstrosity” – sounds like many of the top denominations itself.

I’m not sure what you mean by that, but I am no more holy than you. I feel that I am the least of God’s children. This is just me bringing about my way of looking at current events.

You don’t go far enough: ALL religions are soul-crushing.

    Religion is, Faith is not.
That is why Jesus hated religion

Perhaps; admittedly not my best metaphor.
But whereas the Right wants to accuse the Left of seeing the world thru “rose-colored glasses,” i.e. that all is pretty and sweetness and light, I cannot help but notice that the Right seems determined to see the world as a vile, evil, corrupt place where lots of guns and restrictive religious rules and oppression and ridicule of those who fail to fall in line are the only way.
A very bitter and angry outlook; seeing life through “turd-colored glasses.”
Not lyric, I agree, but sadly it seems to be the case.

Re: your comment yesterday about “Wendy Davis for President.”
Embarrassed to admit that I had to Google her, but what I read impressed me greatly.
A brave woman, fighting the good fight with boldness and determination.
    Wendy Davis for President indeed!
Or at least in the US Senate, where we could use some quality and bravery.
