Speaking of Reverend Sloan, has anyone besides me ever confused him for Rick? I mean, he looks just like Rick would, if Rick ever got his head stuck in and yanked out of a metal pipe…maybe they’re twins somehow.

Never confused Rick and Rev. Sloan, but have confused Jeff with the rear end of his steed Petreaus.

From context there has never been any doubt which is which, but yes, I, too, have felt that they look very much alike.

    yesterday…….“turd colored glasses”? Really?
A different colored metaphor might have been more effective.

I’m not sure what you mean by that, but I am no more holy than you. I feel that I am the least of God’s children. This is just me bringing about my way of looking at current events.

    THANK YOU, John Pike.

For those who are interested in history – and even for those who are not, but want to learn FACTS about life and the world – I recommend 2 very fine books:

John Boswell, SAME SEX UNIONS IN PRE-MODERN EUROPE, Vintage Books, Random House, New York, NY 1994; and, John Boswell, CHRISTIANITY, SOCIAL TOLERANCE, AND HOMOSEXUALITY, University of Chicago Press, Chicago, IL, 1980.

The first listed of these excellent works gives the ABSOLUTE LIE to the Roman Religion’s claim that “marriage has always been between a man and a woman”, that is becoming something of the current “talking point” for the ANTI- claque. In it, Professor Boswell translates – from the original Service Books – several of the CHRISTIAN LITURGIES/BLESSINGS FOR SAME GENDER COUPLES, that are still a part of the LITURGICON in CHRISTIAN use. And the “Paired Saints” of CHRISTIANITY – same gender (!) – are illustrated and discussed.

The second listed is a comprehensive text, though it really is only an excellent beginning for study in/of the sociology of “sexual mores” as they have developed in the Western world. Nonetheless, the TRUTHS are there. And the propaganda – and ANTI-sex-in-general emotionality vs. REALITY is well documented.

Perhaps a few more readers of TRUTHS might help “wake up” those others who seek nothing more than return to such “good old days” as never were to begin with.

    THANK YOU, AGAIN, John Pike.
