    Has to be a rerun. There’s a vertical copyright notice in small type between panels 5 & 6. Click anywhere on strip to enlarge to read. Says, “Universal Uclick © 2011 G. B. Trudeau.” At least a year ago.

    “it still is a shame of a nation that we have homeless veterans.”

    But didn’t W.Bush, Rumsfeld, etc., at least give them a home while they were still in the military? And wasn’t the military more of a home than these moochers ever would have gotten without W.’s war on Iraq? And don’t W. and Rum each deserve the Congressional Medal of Horror (oops, Honor) for selfless public service to them?

    Really? Homeless children, women, elderly or the mentally ill is ok (no shame) though? Homeless is just as bad for anyone who doesnt want to be homeless.

    Most of the other commenters here have heard of satire.

    Just in case there are more people out there like that, here is Today’s Vocabulary lesson.
    Pay attention, kiddies;

    Satire is a genre of literature, and sometimes graphic and performing arts, in which vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, and society itself, into improvement. Although satire is usually meant to be funny, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit as a weapon.A common feature of satire is strong irony or sarcasm—"in satire, irony is militant"—but parody, burlesque, exaggeration, juxtaposition, comparison, analogy, and double entendre are all frequently used in satirical speech and writing. This “militant” irony or sarcasm often professes to approve of (or at least accept as natural) the very things the satirist wishes to attack.

    Even if some would prefer to walk the streets over going to a shelter, I am sure no one wants to be homeless. Once the weather gets colder they all end up giving up the outside, otherwise they wouldn’t make it.
