"Garry Trudeau is the premier American social and political satirist of his time." -Newsweek Doonesbury has managed to be articulate, abrasive, political, compassionate, misunderstood, misprinted, and outrageous - but one thing it's never been is complacent. Garry Trudeau's creation has chronicled American history and culture in a parallel universe. And through it all, Doonesbury has always been honest, entertaining, and thought-provoking.

He did talk to the grunts on the ground, but he didn’t like what they told him.

Being in the bird IS fun, well, until they get beat up. Been there, done that. (Pilots aren’t the only ones who fly.)

When the bird get shot out from underneath you it suddenly stops being fun but during the surprisingly long period of time it takes to reach the ground you can think of other things.

Well, you know, I’m told I have to support the troops, so I guess I support the troops. It seems to be the ONLY difference from Viet Nam.

It’s good to see our military has been well trained in handling the media. Obviously the enemy won’t be getting any raw intel from Roland’s tweets.
Fiendly Neighbourhood Terrorist said, about 1 year ago
Mel is telling him very politely to eff off. But Roland is far too thick to get it.

I’m very happy to see others realize you cannot trust the media, period. It doesn’t seem to matter if they’re left or right, they all have their slant and are out to make money, not report the “news”.
Way to go, Mel.

@gmartin997
With Roland’s mind between the source and his listeners, it’s it’s doubtlful ift ANY intel gets through.

and if Mel decided to run for office someday, someone would criticize her hair-do.

I think they forgot most of her hair in the last panel.

@The Star Thrower
What does Roland, or ANY FAUX “News” reporter have to do with “intelligence” anyway??

So far, Mel is showing no signs of PTSD.
I hope she doesn’t break down later, a la BD, Ray, and Leo.

@Fiendly Neighbourhood Terrorist
I think she’s gently guiding him to a more truthful source.
