    Definitely. But I do think this war was essentially lost as soon as we made it one of “nation building” instead of just trying to get Bin Laden. You can’t waltz into someone’s country and build a nation based on ideologies they don’t already believe in. That’s just doomed to failure.

    We never were anyway. Once we have our foot in the door, we never let the other country close it. We’ve maintained a military presence in every country where we’ve fought a war — except Vietnam, for obvious reasons
