he is on to them trying to forge his writing by using his signature as a template.. Meanwhile the enemy will try to undermine rascals reputation by pointing out documents done in his hand writing.the prez will then get involved because like him the red-rascall has been usurped by evil masterminds that want to destroy our red state values…notice the relation of red hair to red states….BTY ..haha.

    “never learned cursive.”

Yup, that rings true. At least half of the middle school students I know can neither read nor write cursive.

I’d be more than happy if “Doonesbury” was confined to the two levels of “Red Rascal:” the adventures of RR himself; and Jeff’s adventures as he peddles the comic.

Jeff is dressed to impress, meeting the head honcho, and signing autographs! Not bad for a “loser”, as posters are wont to label him.

However, this series is just a time killer, as I’m looking forward to the upcoming pre-election Tea Party/Palin-a-thon.

Bingo, “jeanne”. That’s probably the joke GT rather subtly presented.

I think we all know one cartoonist who saw “Dinner with Schmucks” this summer.

    Aaaaaaah, yes! Of course!

I missed that one, so I can’t wait to see how this plays out, then.

The don’t teach cursive writing any more in public schools, nor do the desks still have inkwells attached (writing with feather pens was especially useful in cursive). The graphics arts classes don’t teach typesetting (as I learned to do), but they learn to use computers instead. In medical school, they don’t teach bloodletting and leach therapies, but have moved on to IV pumps.

Cursive is a wonderful skill to have when you’re hand-writing your novel, but people don’t do much of that any more. Other than signing your name, which doesn’t require a whole lot of practice, there’s not a whole lot of use for investing weeks of classroom time. Cursive may be artsy, but by using computers, we’re moving forward, not backwards.
