Julie Larson began writing The Dinette Set comic in 1990, then called Suburban Torture, offering a satire on middle class culture. The Dinette Set became syndicated in 1997. When asked where Julie gets all of her ideas, she admits there is only one way to write a daily comic: write about what you know. "I make no bones about who’s really talking in The Dinette Set," says Julie, who is writer, director and cast of The Dinette Set. "If we can’t make fun of ourselves, who will?"

If that were IQ under 12, $1.00 they would have it made.

And that kid with the Cubs Rock shirt. Can’t hear what he’s saying but I see a bit of that nudge nudge, wink wink going on.

Um…. I know things are always confusing in Crustwood…
especially to the Pennys…
but I admit to a certain confusion myself over the price of tickets tonight.
One sign says Adults $8 and Children $1….
but the other says $7 and $3, respectively.
Julie must have re-used it without noticing there was already a price sign.
In any case, “Children” with Visa cards of their own have to pay adult price, Burl….
no matter whether everybody thinks they’re babies even without bonnets and suckers.
Pull up your
diapers… I mean socks…and be a man about it.

I’m sorry, that’s a PG-13 movie, I can’t admit you to it without an adult. How delicious!
Let’s face it, the Pennys don’t know an adult save Patty and she is off “studying the bible” with her Yalie friend.

No one is that cheap and crass….wait……yes…..Penny’s to the forefront….and pockets stuffed with Dollar Dump candy……and looking for a used drink container that, with a quick rinse, will be perfectly good for more free refills.

Just because we think someone should get paid 40 mil to work 4 months on a picture and we give someone heck for working all year and makes 2 mill to keep a company running

Yes, all to his efforts alone. Why, he shouldn’t even have to pay taxes like the workers that have nothing to do with keeping the company running.

You’d think they’d be old enough to qualify for a senior discount. Quite often seniors pay the same as children if not less. At any rate isn’t Lassie go Home a film from the 60’s ?
