The lamp was the best part, it seems.

Petey’s big memory is being trapped in the car by a clam.

Cool! You can literally see the sea shell-covered lightbulb (okay, it’s actually the lamp stand) go on over Alice’s head.

That’s not how I remember it.

Early memories of what happened at age three are sketchy. It’s no surprise Alice only recalls the fascinating lamp and not the more mundane, everyday stuff….

All I remember about my first beach trip at about age 15 is that I really enjoyed the scenery, bikinis everywhere

I think there was sand and water too

The only thing my almost-four-year old granddaughter remembered about Florida and its beaches was the ice machine at the motel.

When I was a kid, my favorite part of Daytona Beach were the arcades full of old nickle-a-play pinball machines. They’re all gone now …

What a shame the pinball machines are gone. My favs were Asteroids & Pac-Man.

The lamp makes it all worth it.

This shows why parents and their kids always have different memories of the same experience!
