Nice try, but you got it wrong. It was the MAN watching as an old woman got on and a beautiful young lady got off. Then he told his son, without turning around, “Get your Ma.”
VERY old joke.
So, I guess it is apropos for an old folks home.

This old folks home is mostly female and changing the gender in the original is fine for this “old folk”!
