Egads. Cream of Wheat sandwiches are child abuse.

Yep, many in school are practicing being powerful by attacking others physically, menatlly and emotionally. Then they grow up and tell everyone how the schools failed them and how society owes them a living to make up for their failure to educate them the three days per week they bothered to show up. (or else they become coaches, politicians, salesmen)-I remember it produced extreme hatred for a time, before I learned time wounds all heels..

Hagowar — I’d agree if I didn’t have a friend who likes instant-mashed-potato sandwiches and another who likes just plain mayonnaise sandwiches, both on soft white bread.

So Agnes’ grandmother is a fan of “Yours Mine & Ours” (there is a point where Philip invents an oatmeal sandwich so he can get his toast—“you can live without eggs, oatmeal will sub for that—but I absolutely need my toast”)?

And btw, Hawgowar, a variation of the cream-of-wheat sandwich is a highly-popular breakfast in AP state—the “bread” being actually pesarathu (made with 3/4 greengram and 1/4 rice) and the cream-of-wheat has some mustard, onions and chilis added (known as upma).

When I was a kid, we sometimes ate “wish” sandwitches. You took two peices of bread and wished you had some meat! I don’t know how you’d keep cream of wheat between the bread slices though. Worth a try.Oi! “Eye rolling and smirking”. Agnes must have read that dreadful book du jour.

I absolutely adore oatmeal (REAL oatmeal, thtat you) and would eat it six days a week, but Cream of Wheat just never filled me up. It was like drinking thick milk. And Wheatina? Yetch!

My first husband loved the day after Thanksgiving because he could eat stuffing sandwiches. ?????

…peanut butter and corn syrup sandwiches…the corn syrup would soak into the bread and make it kinda crunchy by lunchtime…

I’m pretty sure Agnes would qualify for free school lunches. In my district this year all lunches are free.

Have we ever seen Agnes bullied or mocked by anyone other than Trout?

I like Cream of Wheat and toast, but not Cream of Wheat in toast.
