Today young Calvin sits at homeWriting a thought-provoking poem.Would Mom’s love remain unselfishIf her son became a shellfish?

Yes Mom would still love you but maybe put you to bed in the fridge.Re wright this beautiful piece of poetry.

Mothers do that, but I wouldn’t be so sure with husbands, some good do it!

Huh? I’m from the north (maybe not far enough North?); it’s not white and it’s not Thanksgiving… What am I missing?? (But it DID get my attetnion.)

Calvin is on his way to becoming the next Wiiliam Butter Yeast…or Ezra Poundcake…or Robert Frostbite…or my favorite, CARL SANDBAG!!

I’m just impressed Calvin can spell “quandary” and “hors d’oeuvre” at an age when most kids have problems with “spaghetti.”

Gives me goosebumps, too.

Calvin is kind of a chowder head today.

Mom would love Calvin even if he was a clam. Moms always find the pearls in their kids.

Calvin is one smart kid if he knows how to spell Quandary and Hors d’ oeuvres

Hey, stop beating up on Calvin’s parents! They do love him as shown in several strips.. the little raccoon strips ..Dad making a snowman with him when he was swamped with work.. Mom not letting him ride his tricycle on the roof grin.. when Calvin wrecked the car moving it to make room for G.R.O.S.S. Mom (after she caught up with him) tells him she was more concerned about him than what happened to the car.. etc. etc. etc. Sure, they don’t always know what to do with a hyperactive genius with an extraordinary imagination, but that doesn’t mean they don’t love him!

He’ll be like Edgar Allen Poe one day…

Like a bad clam, gritty. Very gritty.

Calvin is a poet, but does he always know it?

Not the best poetry I’ve ever read…but better than anything I could come up with.
