GAG, I hate sweet tea! Good one today!

Should have been “…my heart will always belong to my sweet tea.”

I must have missed something. I thought a Dixie Cup was equipment worn by a catcher from Alabama. Certainly not something you’d drink from.

Do you hear someone whistling?

swee’tea. love it. but only since I moved to the south. liked it unsweetened in Ohio. now have to avoid (diabetic) it, and when i go to restaurants, need to remember that, unless specified, iced tea here comes sweet.

When I moved back to SE VA from NE PA, having some real sweet tea was a good “welcome home” taste!

And I happen to love sweet tea (although I can’t have sugar, so I put Splenda in mine).

And no one mentioned lapsong souchong. Of course no sugar. And iced!

I don’t single out sweet tea – I hate all tea.

Shouldn’t at least one of them be whistling?

Here in Melbourne (Australia) the dixie cup I remember was an ice cream cup.

Wrong kind of DIxie cups…

I grew up in Northern Mississippi, and never used or heard the expression “sweet tea” until I moved away. You could specify “hot tea” or “unsweetened tea,” but by default, tea was iced and sweetened. The phrase “sweet tea” seems like something non-Southerners say.

Just curious if others had this experience.

Yes- mint julep is more southern"esque." Sweet tea is universal nowadays.

Made me chuckle. But I do LOVE Earl Grey tea.

I’ve read that worldwide, tea is the most popular beverage. Me, I like a variety of teas, depending on my mood. I must confess that on occassion I’ll even have Constant Comment.

Coffee is for days when I have to work. Tea is for a leisurely and relaxed morning on my day off. I’m on staycation this week. I should be trying to get caught up on my chores, but **ck it.

That’s Privates Mason on the left and Dixon on the right, they eventually went their separate ways.

When I was a kid, I bought Dixie Cups from the ice cream man. Remember those little paper cups filled with ice cream and the little wooden spoon?

It’s sad when people don’t know of Dixie Cups. Best way to drink Moxie is out of a Dixie Cup.
