That’s sad all by itself.The army ants in The Hellstrom Chronicle would at least kill Garfield and dice him up into bite-sized chunks first. That still would take about fifty thousand ants.
Sort of reminds me of that cult sci-fi movie THEM. Maybe the ants are off to irradiate themselves and then join forces with the locusts to become the MS-13 army of the insect world (and maybe ours too).

Around here the operative phrase would be “carried off by mosquitoes”. Some of them have the wingspan of a B-29.
