Plenty of kids still play board games, including my younger siblings.

My kids like them to. Especially Monopoly and Taboo. They’ll turn off the TV, Wii and Gameboys to play.

Funny thing. My husband asked if I wanted to play a video game last night, and I managed to convince him to go for a board game. We played one of the simplest games on Earth…“Sorry!”

My personal favorite board game I’ve never tired of is Monopoly

Monopoly (Star Trek version L), Scrabble, Sorry, Trouble, Life, Scatagories, Boggle, Crib, all great games.

I loved playing Life, but then I had to bribe my younger sister to play it with me.

Whenever we visited our grandparents, my sister would get Life out and we would have an epic battle, especially when we convinced our dad to join in.

I remember playing “Life”, with the little cars and the “stick” people, and the spinner instead of a die. Adam’s description, although accurate, doesn’t really make it sound enticing….

Only played Life a couple of times. I still get together with friends of mine to play board games. We tend to play different ones though like – Settlers of Catan, Dominion, Risk 2210, Twilight Imperium. Monopoly is considered a short game.

Also had a show called “Kids say the darndest things”. I think, and Cosby picked it up for a while too, if memory serves correctly.

My favorite board game is Clue, Simpson’s edition. We play it by candelight whenever the power goes out, (like now. No AC for about 7 hours now). It’s about 90 indoors, a cool breezy 80 outside.

You can tell how old this strip is because Clayton references the Wii as a current pastime.
