Erma almost looks like Alix’s aunt Joan.

Nothing wrong with kids having big dreams, ever.

I think Erma is a grown up Alex,

taking a break from her doctorate!

You tell her, Erma!! The strip that sticks out for me, was the one where Grandma expressed the importance of teaching the girls how to understand the WSJ, rather than being stuck with a future involving only aprons and babies. (that was a long time ago)

Any journey begins with the first step!

When following a dream you MIGHT fail, but not following a dream means you WILL fail.

First frame – When I was a kid women weren’t taught to shake hands, especially with each other. Yes, big changes.

Alix is going to LOVE science camp. Erma understands her.

Sadly, Alix’s big dream is not that she’ll get a submarine but that she’ll be able to do fundamental (“pure” as opposed to “applied”) science.

Enjoy camp Alix. Wish I could get away for fun and away from certain phone call.

Why the NOAA vest? Or do they deal with water as well as air? (I’m not from the States…)

The make Mini or “Personalized” Submarines in Arliington Texas that are surprisingly inexpensive in comparison. Alix would love one dearly. Instead of a car when she gets to that age, Mom should get her one. They are 2 seaters and can be designed for creature comforts as well.
