    In comparison to other Royals of the day – and throughout history – Victoria was actually a lot more “hands-on” with the rearing of her children. Albert, not-so-much.

    Poor ‘Bertie’ . . . in Victoria’s eyes, he could never live up to the standards set by his father and his older sister. Bertie was a mediocre student, and very fond of parties and ‘actresses’.

    “typhoid caused by bad drains”Yes, it is remarkable how many 100s of millions of deaths – from typhoid, dysentery; cholera – have been prevented over the last 150 years by the re-introduction of the ancient Roman practice of plumbing.Don’t drink water mixed with raw sewage. Seems obvious today . . .
