Looking for grass-fed meat is done because we don’t like the animals we eat to have lived tortured lives in cages or pens, force-fed at rates that make them miserable.

If God didn’t want us to eat meat, He wouldn’t have made it smell so good on a bbq grill.

If we’re going to nitpick anachronisms — which is pretty silly, since they’re the basis of the humor in this strip! — .• From the body type, they’re not T. Rex, but velociraptors (or a related species). And who knows? They may even have been purple…and at least some of them, it now turns out, were covered with feathers. (Isn’t archaeology fun?).• The flying critters in the background don’t need to be seagulls; there were, after all, flying dinosaurs..• They’re not exactly extinct — they evolved into birds. Which I think is pretty darn cool..As for the modern human reference of the joke, about being picky about grass-fed meat? It does come from more human treatment of the livestock (up to the point of eating them, anyway); it is healthier for humans to eat; and it’s much more efficient not to waste corn and other feed grains — and the associated water, fertilizer, pesticides, etc. needed to grow them — on cattle, when hungry people could eat them as well. Call it, ah, food for thought. :J

Grass was around in the Cretaceous, and T. rex was a late Cretaceous dinosaur, so no anachronism. The cartoon looks more like T.rex than a velociraptor. No dinosaurs could fly unless you refer to the forms transitional to birds (pterosaurs were not dinos).
