Looks like Tracy isn’t to happy about his wife’s new job. I wonder what it could be?

The Hillbillies celebrated Possum Day? I thought it was The Real McCoys! Vistabill would know that!

An OUTSIDE job? You mean outside the home?

Just starting here, so you folks’ll have to bring me up to date on Mrs. Tracy’s employment status.

This team has their hand on the pulse of this comic strip! These transition scenes are just fabulous, and totally logical…

I always thought that Liz was supposed to be based on Elizabeth Taylor. She used to look a lot more elegant back in the Gould years, and she still did her job excellently.

LIZZ as a BLONDEShe was a blonde when she applied to be a detective as was her soon to die sister Julie Marrlin (killed by Joe Period). All in early 1956But your statement raised the question on when did Gould change her into a being brunette (hair dye ?). Interesting search. She still a blonde when she shot FlattopJr in the head in Nov. 1956. She remained a Blonde from entry ino the strip (Jan.1956) until 6 months after Moon Maid’s arrival in mid-1964First Daily - – - 7-20-1964 (black hair)First Sunday page - – - 8-16-1964 (black hair)Actually, blonde for first eight and a half years !My ’ guess ’ is that dark hair went better with light haired Moon maid who Chet probably planned to have around for a while. (Who knows ?)In Chet’s final story the Governor (1977) – she seemed to have blonde or at least tinged hair at the end.Have to thank DrSid1 for his recall of Lizz goiing back to blonde in Collins/Fletcher - Art Dekko story 1980/1. I’d completely forgotten that change.Guess I can be given a PASS for being a tad upset at seeing her with brown or red haired high-lights. ;-)

So, Gravel Gertie has leaked the news that Tess has taken “an outside job”! I’m with Lizz; that is, this the first I’ve heard of it, too. And why is Dick so reluctant to discuss it? Is it a cause of friction in the Tracy home?

GEE WHIZ !Has anyone noticed (?) It’s been 3 days since Sam was last seen with a cigarette (?)We have to wonder why ?Seems the last one fell out of his hand when he got that super kiss 4 days ago. Happy ’ memories ’ cut his desire ?Or was it the “Advisor’s” counselling finally ’ kicking in ’ - on the Staton pen ?You know how important it is, to have these things portrayed in an authentic manner. Smoking wouldn’t be allowed in Chief Patton’s office, or indeed, inside the Police HQ building. (PC and all that !)Our Joe (who’s art has pleased us), may be a slightly chastened man.Lets ’ toe the line ‘!. No more smoking in HQ. Then, note the Star Badge and checkered band on Patton’s hat, and once again (dutifully) - that “U” on Lizz’s cup (Unit not Squad) Gosh ! Together, realism that just blows you away !Can visualize a smile somewhere this morning !

Tess has a new job…with Mr. Crime! Only kidding. It is weird that Gravel Gertie knows something about Tess that no one else seems to.

Liz is looking more like Fritz Ann, with rather sharp features. Not as attractive. BTW, does everyone have computers with voice recognition which doesn’t put the d on and and doesn’t know the difference between want and won’t or who’s and whose?

Caint say much, spelnnin test tooday… (Egads.) Thanks, Charles Winchester the third. If poor English bothers you, my advice would be to stay away from your local high schools. Danger, Will Robinson! You wouldn’t survive. Just accept that there are people out here that aren’t perfect, even those who read Dick Tracy.

Trivia: The last time Lizz was a blonde was in the June 30, 1981 strip. She returned with black hair on Aug. 7, 1981 during the Ownley Chylde case.In Aug. 1994 (Locher-Kilian) when Tess mentioned she wanted to get a job, Tracy’s response was “You want to get a job? But what can YOU do?”No wonder he doesn’t want to talk about it…There, I policed myself… :-)
