Well it certainly worked out well for Halliburton and Blackwater among others. Thank you Uncle Vice President Dick, you were always my favorite Head of State.
My suggestion? Don’t believe anything coming from our “reliable” media. The same media that gave us Tonkin Gulf, Kuwaiti incubators and Iraqi WMDs. Not a particularly sterling record. For better news , check out Infowars.com and Sibel Edmonds’ Boiling Frogs websites.
While I often said I was skinny enough to hide behind a single rice stalk in Viet Nam, I wish they hadn’t used all that defoliant, that’s responsible for some of my physical problems today, along with many others, here, and in Viet Nam.
It IS interesting that while the jungle DID provide cover, Afghanistan has lots of cover you can NOT shoot through, like rocks, and even “hiding” in the desert is easier than folks might assume. Now the thermal imaging devices we have available today would have been really “cool” to have back then.
But, another “oddity” upon reflection on the ’toon, I host no “ill will” toward the folks who were trying to kill me back then, and even MORE oddly, I’ve met a number of them since, who also hold no ill will toward US, even though we WERE in THEIR country!!

In Nam, it was even worse! Our troops were shooting at each other just to get a “million dollar” wound, one that would get you sent home early!

Ten years ago, there was a chance of actually defeating the Taliban. After over ten years of occupation, we have made the whole nation enemies..
