Not that I would EVER advocate such a thing, but I’m surprised your posts don’t get flagged a lot more often when you do that.

Now I know you need your eyes examined. @SimonJester is right – this is about Florida Legislature, not the Nation’s! If you want to get into our politics, then move to Florida!Besides, I doubt this is going to go far. There is a state law that is the mirror of the “Separation of Church & State” in the Constitution here.

I think that a minute of silence would be good. Don’t have to pray, could be something like “aren’t the trees beautiful today?” or sometimes cloudy days are good, it’s sometimes a break from the sunshine."

There’s no end to the religious tyranny that can be imposed on innocent young minds. Why not have them wash their feet and bow to mecca?How about building a bonfire and dancing naked like Wiccans?Why not let cows wander through schools because they’re sacred?

I’m glad you recognize the love in liberalism, as indicated by the heart. More and more people are recognizing the hate in conservatism.

In high school, had a friend who transferred to public school from Catholic school. It took him the entire first year (and an amusing incident) to get it through his “washed” brain that he didn’t have to pop up like a Jack in the box every time the teacher called on him.

BUT: kids pray, silently, in schools all the time, like every time they take a test. The prohibition is only against a prayer LED BY the school official, which represents the “state”, and therefore the “establishment” of religion in the CHILD’S MIND!!

and one of the constitutional tensions is this:if your local rep has been there a while, and has clout, and brings home the bacon for your district, then why would you fire him – it would be giving up all that power to your neighboring states, which is not you.
