I would be willing to use tax $ to cut the Tubes of females that get abortions (that includes the ‘men’ in this situation). These people are brain dead in an era of contraception. When they want a family- adoption is the way to go.

If Men got pregnant, abortions would be legal and safe. You don’t believe me? Think about this…A woman gets too old to have children, “Here’s a pill to ease your hot flashes.”A man gets too old to father children, “Here’s a little blue pill to help you get it up.”

If 50% of fertilized eggs get flushed by the body (they do!), and people are adopting kids from Viet Nam or China (babies), while good, strong, American kids over the age of 1 linger in foster care, exactly where ARE all the “adopt the egg” folks?

Abortion should NOT BE a primary form of “contraception”. However, the total idiocy of the “right to life” folks, in a scientific age, and given the REAL statistics, is absurd. Being against contraception AND abortion, is like having a pregnant Pope.

@JaseYou sound like a caring woman. How do you feel about this idea to prevent future abortions and avoid more children being born into poverty:A teenager that applies for Aid for Dependent Children accepts having her Tubes cut to get tax $.She can always say ‘no’ and ask for a free apartment from her relatives and friends.

The only difference between a fetus and a baby is compassion. Those who are truly compassionate must help care for the mother and child before and after birth.

A largely undifferentiated clump of cells with no functional nervous system is not a child. It is the potential to be a child. I have the potential to be a Nobel prize winner, myself, but that doesn’t mean I have the prize money in the bank and a lovely medal. You are defending killing fully aware, independent, conscious, intelligent beings, for the sake of cells which would, under ideal conditions, at a later stage of development have enough of a nervous system to be aware. THAT’s insane. Oh yes, and hateful.

IEO, my post above is also for your edification. I am not a supporter of abortion except in the case of rape or the mothers’ life, therefore the clear and most correct answer and course of action, in the whole, is in what I propose above. Good luck to all of us on this divisive issue.

Wow where would some of you be today if your parents felt that way? I do know this and I don’t give a darn what any of you say, conception BEGINS THAT MOMENT! A living being BEGINS at that moment! You all pro-abortion folks try to explain to me how I KNEW, THE VERY NEXT DAY that I was pregnant. That “butterfly flutter”, yeah it was there, I can’t explain it, but I knew. And I carried my first child to term and it was born with the cord around the neck and she could not be saved, but don’t even tell me abortion is okay! You don’t want to be pregnant, then take precautions and quit screwing the first person you meet, or think about the many many people who want so BADLY to have children and can’t, and give yours up for adoption if you don’t want it, but how you wouldn’t want such a sweet little innocent life is beyond me! And just for the record, I was at one time, pro-choice. Back before I got a brain!

I don’t apologize for my rant, because I firmly am anti abortion but I wasn’t personally attacking anyone here. I am just passionate about it, and I guess I really don’t even need to apologize for that.

lew, why would it matter if the product of conception is the result of rape or incest. if you believe that’s a person, it’s just as wrong to abort.

the bible says the soul doesn’t enter until there is blood. there is no blood until the heart starts pumping – 11 days or so.

it is inconsistant that anti-abortions (i won’t call them pro-life cause they aren’t), are usually staunchly for the death penalty. that means they are full of it when they talk about the sanctity of life.

it is also sad that the same anti-abortionists don’t give a damn about preventing unwanted pregnancies, as eddie ohara say, sex outside of the ‘SANCTITY’ of marriage deserves the punishment of an unwanted pregnancy.

how sad people of these ilk consider an unwanted pregnancy a punishment.

and not only do they want to ban contraception, but they want no pre or post-natal care for the woman.

this is religious dogma, so keep your ‘SANCTIMONEOUS’ crap out of my life and my governemnt.

“The purpose of sex is conception. "…And the purpose of eating is nutrition. Obviously, then, we should dismiss any function of eating as a social activity and an opportunity for people to bond with each other; and everyone who has a beer or a glass of wine or cake or a bit of chocolate for sheer pleasure (not to mention gourmets, yikes!) are submitting themselves to unnatural sin.

@dr canuckhere is an explaination that is better than i can do:

    http://www.religioustolerance.org/abo_when3.htm

there is another explanation that god breathes life into man – which means that life begins with the first breath and ends with the last breath.

    http://bible.cc/genesis/2-7.htm

I’m really a proponent of that. Not only am i fine with intact dilation and extraction abortions, but they are low in number and almost always necessary.

the control freaks (that want to control other peoples bodies) like to argue that life begins at conception. there is no serious or educated reading of the bible that supports that ridiculous notion. those people just have too much time on their hands and want to punish and control people with different beliefs than themselves.

the most important thing to remember is that if you believe in god, then he created abortion doctors, and all of the tools they use and the knowledge they have.

    so:

god bless abortion doctors and the essential work they do.god hates anti-abortionists, and all those that support the on-going hate and murder of abortion doctors.

god bless planned parenthoodgod bless the USA

As i stated. Abortion is clearly gods will, if you believe in god. abortions will happen whether they are legal and safe, or not.

morality is up to each person.

if you want to use the free will argument, then both abortion doctors and pregnant women MUST have the free will to choose abortion or god won’t be satisfied.

according to free will, man has less rights to destroy the earth than to have an abortion.

“…income tax deductions for having children. " You raise a ‘Special Interest’ Tax Code Loophole issue. I favor cutting ALL Deductions and Income Exemptions In-Half. …“Why should I carry your share of the tax burden?” ONE reason: care for children so they will be raised to get a job to pay into Social Security so YOU have a retirement check.

My compliments, your logic here is exacting, correct and clearly lays out the dilemma for those that ‘believe;’ (1) do they have a lesser God with limited powers or (2) a God that is in fact in charge and doing things His way, not the way that humans have (in so many different ways) imagined how God wants it done and then proclaimed that it is how He wants it done. Let those that want to tell God how to run the universe, and the rest of us how he is doing it and therefore how we must act and behave, reflect on Sir Arthur Eddington statement: “Not only is the universe [God] stranger than we imagine, it is stranger than we can imagine.”

Consider this possibility: We have a personality. It existed before we were born into our body. Ask any mother about the unique pre-birth personality of each of her children. We wanted to choose our parents. The Bible has a story about John, the cousin of Jesus, recognizing Mary. He was still in Elizabeth’s womb.

with all due respect, lew, abortions will always be necessary, essential and proper.

there are all kinds of problems with conception and childbirth that will KILL the mother. childbearing has always been a risky business (for the mother).

so when i hear people like Sick Rantorum and Rick Perry say they would outlaw all abortions, no exceptions (except for santorums wifes abortion, since she’s different), i have to ask what about ectopic pregnancies and the likes of them?

for that matter, what about cesearean sections? shouldn’t the mother be forced to give birth vaginally whether she is able or not? Especially when she’s a single parent, as punishment for her promiscuity?

this is no ones business except for the mother and the doctor.

and yes, while we’;re at it, why do hetero-married straight people get special rights?

Politicians have used abortion as a tool to polarize. No politician is actually for ending it, since it would limit their campaign’s inroads into the vast religious industry of the U.S.…..The law allows me to drink booze, it doesn’t make me. The law allows a woman to make her own decision about her body, it doesn’t make her have an abortion. ……Education reduces the chance of pregnancy but many who appose the availability of abortion also appose education that would limit its need. If their argument is for the welfare of the potential child and the reduction in the number of abortions, it breaks down if it doesn’t include education and the availability of contraception.

“…rethinking about what we mean by free will…” While you are ‘rethinking’- survey the opinion of 1,000 people that were born into financially humble circumstances and now have over $1 Million in assets.
