Crow is actually quite Tasty, Well, The Breast anyway Lightly seasoned, Broiled and Wrapped in Thick Cut Country Style Peppered Bacon on a Bed of Wild Rice and a Nice House Salad and a Glass of Cabernet Mmm MM! Have Fun Y’all! :-)
I love the humor of this one today! And what’s wrong with you guys that you don’t like Egg McMuffins? :) The painting is actually “St. Anthony Abbot and St. Paul the Hermit” and Diego Velazquez is the artist. St. Anthony Abbot was a saint who lived from the third century to the mid fourth century. This is not THE St.Paul and this painting is not illustrating something from the Bible. This is St. Paul the Hermit, lived c.230 – 342. The legend says that Paul fled into the desert to escape persecution and was kept alive by ravens bringing him food. It is said that late in his life, he came to know St. Anthony and Anthony eventually buried Paul. One way to recognize St. Paul the Hermit is he is often represented as a dead man whose grave is being dug by a lion. Anthony and Paul are probably being represented twice in this painting, alive in the foreground, depicting their faith in God sustainting them, and in the background, Paul lies dead, with Anthony kneeling at his side, the man who buries him. There is nothing better than symbolic art!
Enlarged (same size but different coloring from Baslim‘s, link has moved), more enlarged available from here (discusses painting, detailed raven image available from here). Works by this artist have appeared 6 times, so far, in Mr. Melcher’s blog.

I don’t laugh often at comics, but these comics keep cracking me up. Thanks so much, Steve!
