At 56 I sure feel done.

I’ve removed the time periods from my resume. As soon as I meet the interviewer, I know I’m automatically eliminated as being too old.

How can we justify treating each other this way? How can we justify limiting education, healthcare, and care of our older citizens, let alone abandoning those of us who seek gainful employment? And we continue to consider voting for candidates like tweedledumb and tweedledumber? Have we lost our humanity?

Congratulations, Uncle Sam! You’ve been talking about trimming the fat for years, and you’ve finally pared him down to the bone. But I thought you meant excess waste (and waist!) in the gov’t—not the poor schleps who pay taxes to keep you going.

To: lontooni – Don’t give up. After 18 months of looking I finally found a solid job that is right in my field. I am 59 and I know the pain. Just remember, it isn’t the government that creates jobs. It is the entrepreneurial, hard-working spirit of America.Good luck.
