You mean, it won 51-48, but in our “democracy”, a majority of votes in the senate combined with a huge majority of public opinion is not enough to pass a bill if the 1% don’t want it passed.
The problem with these temporary fixes is that all of the make work employees are unemployed again when the make work is finished. It just makes the downturn last longer. Our tax dollars being wasted. We used to call these pork barrel projects. Now we call it “stimulus.”
Even the Dems didn’t want it to come to a vote – they didn’t want the thing, the constituency doesn’t want it, but they hate to vote against “their president.” And President O once again demonstrates his lack of understanding.
And the President, who says he’s done EVERYTHING to cooperate with the Repubs seems to forget that they’ve made it abundantly clear that they will not pass a bill that repeals the Bush-era tax cuts in part or in whole. Then when he suggests they do that, is surprised by their reaction. Go Figure.
the GOP senate leader called for a vote on Obama’s “jobs bill”…3 Democrats voted “NO”….and the GOP is blamed?-the House GOP have sent at least 100 bills to the Senate….blocked by Reid and the Democrats…..some of those bills contain job-encouraging language, if passed by both House and Senate and signed by the president.-HYP-O-CRISY thy name is Democrat.
Yes, and lets see all the jobs created by the tax cuts passed last december. What? There ARE none, well thats funny. I was told cutting taxes are the only way to create jobs. Thats why we have the lowest taxes in 50 years AND the lowest unemployment. Right?
