You’ve just gotta love those Richthuglicons. Of course, their Fundi Christian fellow-travelers do believe that with the establishment of Israel, the End Times are at hand and they feel it behooves them to do what they can to help bring Armageddon on. Sweet.

On a separate but somewhat related note, some biologists (!) at the University of Minnesota have recently released a study that shows mathematically why the rich keep getting richer. http://tinyurl.com/3ugs3tw The implications are astonishing and profound. One of them is why it is arguably fair, necessary and no doubt in everyone’s, including the wealthy’s, best interest to significantly redistribute and reinvest wealth society wide.

Ahem. I’m as libertarian as anyone who’s rational. I even campaigned and voted for Ron Paul lo many decades ago. Read the study (news release, actually), think about it, THEN comment.

This is why I always ask conservatives, “Why do you elect people into office who hate the government?” Its like hiring a car mechanic who hates fixing cars. It makes no sense.

Distribution of wealth happens when the wealthy employ people at fair wages to make them more money (in the home country).

Ignorance and Idiocy is the root of the stupid idea that Bible Christians are trying to bring about something that only God the Father can do at a time that only God the Father knows!

We have our “orders” in the New Testament scriptures, and we are commanded to avoid even trying to “set a date”!

We are to do our best to present the Gospel of Christ to all humans….to do good works and help the needy in our personal capacities….to defend the concepts of Godly living by working for laws against evil and crime….and to pray for the Peace of Jews and Jerusalem and the soon Coming of Messiah in God’s pre-set time, whenever that is.

p.s. there is NO “end of the world”…..the Bible teaches that Earth is Eternal…..we are today facing the nearing of the “end of the AGE (Church Age)”……to be followed by7 years of Great Tribulation, ended by the Return of Christ to rule as King of Kings for the 1,000 years Kingdom, followed by renewal of earth for eternity! God will save everyone who puts trust in the Jewish Rabbi and Messiah, Jesus Christ…..

Toles has summed the current situation up nearly perfectly. But he can’t show the elephant in Bachmann/Perry/Palin/Santorum, et al’s “Christian burkas”. It really IS time for Americans, REAL Americans to re-read Article Six of the Constitution and make every member of Congress, or potential member, swear an oath again to THAT, instead of a “no taxes” pledge. The fundamentalists are proving that the “founding fathers” had it right, and their warning in that article should be heeded.

A fractional reserve money creation system REQUIRES continuous growth, and is designed to transfer wealth from those who produce (Main Street) to those who have been given the power to create new money (Wall Street). So, no surprise the data proves that this is what happens.

That would explain the recent crop of new Congressmen.

I wonder how comfortable you are espousing a 14th century fable here in the 21st century. What level of education do you possess? Are you familiar with current scientific standards?….(end quote)

to reply in a general sense…I am perfectly comfortable in espousing the Truth of God recorded in the Bible.

I look forward to meeting many Fathers of Science in heaven.Scientists who studied the scriptures and expressed faith in the God who inspired chosen men to write the Bible. Scientists whose faith led them to make “first discoveries” and who laid the foundation for the study of science.

we will miss you, I’m sure, Mr. Runnels.

Thank you to several of you for your kind and appreciative words. As for the various wingers here, Harley, Loco, disgusted et al., for the most part they concern me only as to their stability and well-being. I see them as being on the street corner, arms wind-milling and spittle flying. And as for cogent insight and analysis, these folks seem sadly unable to do better than Fox News, Rush and desperate Bible thumping (I’ll bet few of them have actually read their Bible straight thru. It’s not an easy read, especially the KJV. It’s wondrously inconsistent and incoherent, and thus the Bible cannot possibly be inerrant!) They should, however, actually try to read the U of M article I cited earlier and attempt to comprehend its implications.Look, I’ve always been skeptical of government, and believe it should be kept to a minimum. But in a modern society of over 310 million people, government is an absolute necessity. And it’s the only institution that is capable of counterbalancing the interests of the individual citizen against the power of accumulated wealth. Unfortunately, that function has clearly been subverted in recent decades. That’s not good for anyone, including the wealthy. As well expressed lately in the NY Times, The Sage of Omaha knows this and is rightly concerned. So am I, and like the Tea Baggers, I’m angry, too. But unlike the unfortunate Baggers, rather than demagogs, I look to real world facts, science and a profound skepticism to guide my thinking. No one tells me how to think; I’m proud to say that I’m certain of nothing. It’s safer for everyone that way.Thank you, good night & to bed. I’ve a job to be at in the morning.

http://www.adherents.com/people/100_scientists.htmlsome scientists who professed faith in the Bible’s God=Copernicus, Gallileo, Kepler, Pascal, Isaac Newton, Faraday, Morse, Pasteur, Maxwell, and my favorite George Washington Carver.

What a wonderful eternity to meet and talk with these men of faith. Just to sit and listen and learn answers to a lifetime of questions, would be a blessing….King David of Israel was also a man of faith who knew scientific facts about how God’s earth and nature functioned…..obvious in his Psalms….

you agostics and atheists will miss an eternity of blessings by your arrogant choices….and ego-trips of thinking you are smarter than the Creator God.

to Runnels….God gives every human the opportunty to choose the only plan of salvation—-faith in the Bible’s only Saviour, Jesus the Christ and Israel’s Yeshua-Messiah.

the alternative to eternity with God is the eternity with Satan…first in Hell then judgment and in the Lake of Fire with Satan and all his evil dupes. Not my choice and I’m happy that as scripture says…“God is not willing that any (human) perish”…but God gives us free will and our choice.
