Yep, Batista was a real prince of a guy, just like so many “Latin dictators” we supported. Not defending the Castro boys, but the simple fact is that there are a lot of “non-Communist” dictatorships out there that are just as bad, or worse.
Red baiting is even dumber today than under McCarthy. Marxism is a failed system, so let’s all admit it, and move on. “Capitalism” hasn’t produced a lot of compassionate behavior in the last 100 years either.
Maybe when how we take care of the planet and its populations takes more effort than “making a buck” or distributing it, we’ll slow down on killing each other?
