Heaven help you professor if you ever lectured on the East Coast. you would never get tenure. “Woman’s Studies” never mention Salome, Jezebel, or Marie Antoinette. However they praise madame Curie (Grandmother to the atomic bomb), Queen Victoria (World’s biggest warmonger), and Eleanor (Forced FDR to sign socialist bills when he was disabled).Remember, Ivy league means liberal arts and liberal means——

The professor has it right. I am a life long Democrat, WW2 vet, workded 60 years without union or government help I have become ashamed of the libs who took over my party a few decades ago. They trash people like Sarah Palin, who paid for her ofwn college education, and worship Barack and Michelle who had most of their education paid for by tax money from workers. I don’t agree with Hillary on many issues, but I have never stooped to calling her vile names or wishing her or her family harm. End of an old fellows rant.

ProfGas, those of us who criticize Sarah Palin and Representative Bachmann do so, because we love America, we love the world, we love reason, and we love intelligence. The positions of Palin & Bachmann are not good for America or for the world.Neither Palin nor Bachmann uses reason or intelligence. They are visibly stupid people who use demagoguery to rouse their followers. If you recall, we criticized Bush-Dick for these same qualities. You should stop playing the sex card and stop fantasizing about Palin, Bachmann, and the liberal media.Neither Palin nor Bachmann has any interest in you, excepting your checkbook, and there is no liberal media. The media are right-stream, which is the reason that both of your beloved politicians are in our faces so much of the time.

Jack, we hate Clarence Thomas because he believes he is above the law (or is ignorant of it, which for a supreme court judge is not a good sign). And I’m not even a member of the “left”.

why don’t we stop this stupid and useless civil war that is meant to divide & conquer us, the brainwash of oppositions, the finger-pointing at the “other” who is your brother/sister? does Betty Ford have to die every day before stiff-necked antagonists “come together” in an orgasm of shared penitence and humility? why don’t they take a bite out of the military industrial complex $$$moolah$$$, instead of raping the poor?is it because war is so good for business?

America is going the way of the Roman Empire. The reich-wing is shifting wealth from the working person to the leisure class that lives on investments. Trouble is, these investments are all based on borrowed money. Wealthy multinational corporations often pay no taxes whatsoever and engage in outsourcing American jobs to India and China where slave-like labor ships Sara Palin dolls for B.D. to buy here and for Sam to put in the freezer. Does anybody have any idea of how much the nation has to pay in service on the national debt every month? If communist China were to invade Taiwan would we, could we, borrow money from communist China to fight communist China? And would communist China loan us money to fight them? Would we put boots on the ground in communist China?

Is ProfessorChaos forgetting the many unkind words from Rush Limbaugh re: liberal and Democratic women, or where Ted Nugent said he would place his semi-automatic rifle in regard to Hillary Clinton’s anatomy? It’s not one sided as he suggests. It would be nice if we could all just point our differences without name calling. I think most statements stand on their own, if we take the time to understand what is said rather than waiting for talking points to tell us how we need to interpret them.

Here’s how to get ahead in America today: Borrow money from worker/taxpayer who borrowed money based on the equity in their house. Invest that money in order to get more money back as the bubble grows ever larger. When it pops and the equity in the houses goes below their market value, ask the your buddies in government to bail you out so you don’t have to face the consequences. Let the homeowner go underwater and drown. But you’re all right because the homeowner/taxpayer is bailing you out. Pay yourself a $100 million dollar bonus every year. Use some of this money to pay campaign contributions to keep your buddies in the Senate and House and Oval Office to win and keep on bailing you out. When you die of old age and too much money, let there be no “death tax”, but rather leave your “hard-earned” money to your heir, Paris Hilton.

Common sense, common courtesy, common decency are anything but common; they are getting increasingly rare. Tea Partyers and their ilk should recognize that the degree of certainty you have on an issue is directly proportional to the likelihood of being wrong.

America is becoming a third-world nation in the technical sense of a thin wealthy aristocratic upper crust overlying a vast poor supporting population of semi-slave labor. This aristocracy has the House, the Senate, and the Oval Office in their pocket due to campaign contributions and lobbying. This is a form of fascism — the over-rulling multi-national military-industrial-financial complex in bed with government and telling the rest of us what to do. When we wake up, will it be too late?

gmartin, Many, many kids have called me “Dad” or “Uncle” and I am proud of it. Some were children of friends, some friends of my children and some were exchange students to whom I was their closest “Dad”. Ray is a close friend of BD’s so it is quite appropriate for him to be called “Uncle”.

Professor, you are right about Palin not saying she could see Russia. She said she saw Russians. Why keep picking on Bill Maher? He was blacklisted by GW Bush because he criticized Bush going to war in Iraq. Maher was without work for several years. He may be bitter but he has a right to be, Palin and Bachmann have not been put out of work,,,,, Far from it.

While Palin and Bachmann are not the best people for the Country, the Socialist that currently runs our Country into the ground is much worse. Who do you want to run the Country?

All racist thinking is stereotyping, and so are the comments on this blog by those would defend Sarah Palin. This flabby granny is their Playboy Bunny (see her Newsweek stereotype), and they’re blind to a corrective caricature like Trudeau’s doll (emphasizing SP’s really bestial eyes) or like the mockup revealing her stretch marks that FriscoLou posted three days ago:

Bill Clinton didn’t do any of those things that you allege. If you want to demonstrate a reason for any of us to read your remarks, then either apologize for or explain your reasons for supporting Bush-Dick in two elections and McCain-Palin in one. When Bush-Dick & the Republicans practically ruined America, why did you support them?

FriscoLou, you may be right about Palin seeing North Koreastan rather than Russia. Note:

“On Glenn Beck’s radio show yesterday, Sarah Palin accidentally said, ‘We have to stand with our North Korean allies.’ Then Palin was like, ‘Wait. North Korea’s the one in the south, right?’” —Jimmy Fallon

We liberals do support women in the workplace and in politics when they are competent. We also don’t appreciate having incompetent women dangled under our noses as someone we would vote for just because they are women. The last thing women need is to have someone as incompetent as these 2 given responsibility for running the country. They would be the LAST women who would ever be president. I do NOT, however wish them harm in any way — I simply don’t want either of them for president.
