grog, ladyfingers: you must not live in the suburbs, where things are placed too far apart to permit walking anywhere (assuming there are even sidewalks) and taxicabs are something you see on TV shows set in the Big City. It’s positively perverse how suburban planners design the environment so that it’s impossible to get anywhere—even to places whose whole point is the consumption of alcohol—without driving.

Well I don;t know about you, gmartin997, but when I go to the bar, I either walk (if it’s close enough) or take a taxi.

Where we live, there are no sidewalks and taxis are kinda scarce. Still…people should not drive if they’re drunk.
