It’s ANTARCTIC calving, and the loss of glaciers in the Himalaya, Rockies, and Andes that are more nerve wracking. Then throw in pH changes, loss of corals, and terrestrial changes in vegetation “zones” and critters, if you want to see some real facts, and something to think about. Nah, deniers don’t want to “think” about facts- Rush and Glenn will lead them to the promised land- where WMDs abound.
It doesn’t look good for humanity. We may be on the way out. But there’s also good news—once we’re gone, the whole planet will start to heal itself !!!
Forget Al Gore, dammit. He’s merely a popularizer. It’s the scientists who are doing the heavy lifting here, and they’ve reached consensus on a number of issues. First: the Earth is warming. Second: we are contributing to the trend.
So because this guy made a flawed film about global warming we should believe its a hoax? Where’s the data that proves that it is fake? Vhammon (among others) always shows links to the data that proves that CO² is causing the polar ice caps to melt away. Since CO² is a gas that is being absorbed by the ocean it in effect makes the seas warmer and is your cause for melting ice. Thanks again V!
Instead of facts all we get from these guys is editorials from the U.K. Telegraph, rants from right wing think tanks like the Heritage foundation, and references to Al Gore’s film because the lighting was too dark in frame 1:02:45 or some minuscule detail they have a problem with.
You can try to make your points with smoke and mirrors but the truth will always shut you guys down.
BTW Last I checked Al Gore was not a scientist but I do applaud him for making everyone aware of this issue.
Tom Toles had revealed this idea a few days earlier in a web-only sketchbook feature on the Post website. Fun to see the process. Glad he used this great one!

Humanity will grind on, but human misery will get worse for those who increasingly have no hunting grounds, crops, or place to live.

Howie seems to think that just because the far-right deniers put profit ahead of environment, everyone else must do the same.

“Use what we have wisely”
Uh, isn’t that what the anti-environment people are against?
