scottfreitas I could say the same about you and your GOP. I never voted for NIXON,[FORD],REAGAN, BUSH I or BUSH 2. Yet they were my presidents.

That means this country has been flushed down the toilet by you and your corporate leeches.

For at least the next few years you have to call Obama YOUR president. You will just have to deal with the fact that he is black!!

ALL NETWORK T.V. NEWS ORGANIZATIONS ARE CENSORED BY THEIR CORPORATE BOSSES. TURN THEM ALL OFF, AND LEARN TO THINK FOR YOURSELF. READ NEWSPAPERS & watch BBC and PBS only!! But, you can’t handle the truth!!!!!

I teach my students critical thinking. You just don’t pass the THINKING test!!!

Yes scott, it’s so obvious that the reason you’re on Israel’s side is because you’re a racist bigot who hates Obama. You never once mentioned ANYTHING about Obama on that post but my God, it’s so obvious you meant to. Thank goodness we have people like Bob here to translate your post or I would have never understood.

But I do disagree with you on Palestine + Israel. We really are looking at 2 people who hate each other, and Israel has not been helpful in giving Palestinians a reasonable solution either. It’s not a clear “one person is right, the other is wrong” kind of situation.

Remember that if we were in the same situation with Canada (let’s say), then we would have already invaded and occupied Canada and taken their land. Then we would have given some useless, unconnected strips of land back to them and wondered why they kept complaining and, yes, bombing.

It’s like talking to a hate wall, but Scott’s patronizing disdain for the Palestinian civilians shows that he really only has disdain. All the world over, in Pakistan’s Swat Valley, in Darfur, in the dissenters’ prisons in China, and in the prisons of the U.S.A., there are millions of people trapped by repressive authority.

I used to wonder why the thousands of people interred in concentration camps didn’t just rise up and push the fence down and go for it. Sure, many would die, but when you’re being fed to the furnaces, what do you have to lose?

I was immature, and have since learned the combined forces of hunger, displacement, restricted access to public areas, disease, poverty and intimidation really do affect how you feel in regards to your situation. Fear kills incentive, too.

It’s just too simplistic for you to say that the Palistinian people chose their government, so now they must pay the price. Surely you know that the Palestinian people have no real influence on the political and military forces shaping their daily lives and their long term destiny.

You snarl: “unless the Pals act like civilized human beings…”. I remind you that Israel’s phosphorus weapons are uncivilized and illegal. It ain’t the general populations’ fault.

You know what? I’m going to say something bold. Something brave and unprecedented. Something that I’m pretty sure has never been said on the internet by anyone.

I don’t understand the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and therefore I am not qualified to comment on it.

There. It had to be said.

OK, since toasteroven started, I’ll stand up next and say…

I don’t understand cap and trade emissions reduction, and therefore I am not qualified to comment on it.

Whew! That felt good. Thanks, toast.

Have I explained to everyone what Freitas really means? Old Portuguese for “broken stones” and it would mean someone from “stony ground”. An apt name for a guy who won’t ever listen. All your arguments will fall on deaf ears, i.e. stony ground.

    Hey.

Hey scott. Here’s a challenge for you.

Make a post where you present your point in a clear, concise, and mature manner.

    Can you do it?

scott; You’re right, the republican right would have invaded Canada (then ran away with their tails between their legs at the sight of the first snowstorm, like the Germans did in Russia). Doesn’t mean it’s the civilized thing to do (if it was, republicans wouldn’t do it.)

Scott sez: “bobhasty: figures you’re a so-called “.” Since you’re yet another stereotypical leftist feminized male–the only type of male allowed to participate in the brainwashing centers known as “.” God help (literally) the innocent __ deceived by your worthless propaganda.”

See, Scott’s hate is equal opportunity! You can put almost any nouns in the blanks and it fits all his posts! Cool.

I can do it too. “Scottf, figures you’re a brownshirt. Since you’re yet another stereotypical rightiist feminized male–the only type of male allowed to participate in the brainwashing centers known as “the Republican party”. God help (literally) the innocent citizens deceived by your worthless propaganda.”

See, scott? It isn’t effective. Try something else.

Something to add to the situation: With all the repressive regimes in the area (Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, etc.), they need the Palestinians as sacrificial lambs to keep their populations focused on something outside their countries. Note also that the governments in the middle east that are most friendly to the US, their people generally hate us (e.g. Saudi Arabia) while the governments that dislike the US, their people generally like us (e.g. Iran). Try living over here, its an experience. Cheers!
