    Indeed they were. If I recall correctly, the Hollywood studio wanted Ruby Slippers, because they were more photogenic. They showed up better on camera. At least, that’s what I heard. Movie trivia is a bit of a hobby of mine.

    ‘Course, anyone who’s seen Wicked will understand that they are in fact both colors throughout the story, with the slippers changing from silver to ruby about 3/4 of the way into the play for… well, I’m not going to spoil it for those who haven’t seen it. Which, in my opinion, everyone should.

    I agree with Ashley: Everyone must see Wicked. Seen it twice. Will see it again next chance I get.

    In Wicked, the slippers change colours.

    In the movie, they were supposed to be silver. However, since they were filming in colour for one of the first times and the land of Oz is so rich in colour, they made them red.
