tjdestry I think you missed the point here. It is Obama claiming to “reach across the isle” but demanding all GOP to agree with him. In other words killing the republicans.

Tinytown, in other words, Obama can’t claim to reach across the Aisle (Isle is a small island you idiot) unless HE acquiesces to GOP demands to agree entirely with THEM!

Let’s review. LAst Nev 4th–who won? Oh yeah, not-the-Republicans. It seems to me that he is bending over backwards to get thier input. Which seems to be merely whining that they aren’t getting everything their way. Guess what? THe voters have spoken: most of us don’t believe those ideas will work. He could just say “shut up, sit down, here’s how it is” but he’s not.

IMHO the Repubs are definitely NOT the angels here. We need action from the government NOW and who is stopping things? For what good reason?

I have always avoided identifying with either party; the current behavior of the Rpublicans in congress is definitely pushing me away from their viewpoint.

fyi, until this time around I refused to vote either major party as I felt they were both full of it and only gave me incompetents as their option. This time around I finally saw something different. I truly believe both candidates honestly want to serve their country, and IMHO they are in the best respective positions today to accomplish that–obviously not everyone here agrees & that’s fine.

At this point in time, to me the better ideas are coming from the left, not the right–once the right starts throwing some ideas I think are better, I’ll happily support them.

IMHO, the rhetoric from both extremes of the spectrum are silly and get us nowhere. My last comment here was probably a bit over the top for me, but what can I say, I was wound up over the same old, same old BS going on when they needed to sit down and work something out.

claudermilk Wasn’t trying to pick on you about the typo, just sick of it. I through out a very seldom typo or miss spelling. I will agree to say the GOP needs to be cleaned up and several of Rinos need to be removed. I don’t like to support alot of what the Republicans do, but Democrats do not support any of my beliefs at all so I really don’t have any other choice.

I am going to trust our President to review this bill with the best advice he can find and make a sensible decision. I have a spell checker and it works. I can spell, but these old arthritic hands can’t always type!
