For a paint job that small, “jackets” might be more accurate.
I prefer to call my second coat a sweater. The I put a topcoat over all of that. My toes stay nice and warm.

In my youth I worked with an old lady who had pedicures frequently and I thought that was silly. We live in a warm climate where sandals reign. Now I know why she did it – old toes can look really bad if not attended to. I do my own though.
