I’ve seen outdoor athletic wear advertised for a lot more than $135. They were supposed to be good for extreme cold, or a combination of cold, wind, and rain.
It’s likely designer. Why they bought designer, I’ll never know. However, I’ve seen here in Canada people are more into designer stuff. Being in Toronto (right?) I imagine it’s even worse there than here in Edmonton.
I know these strips are now supposed to be “timeless”, but I can’t help thinking $135? In the early 80s? Wow. How much would they be today?
Let’s see, according to an inflation calculator (which only goes up to 2007, so I’m rounding off), a jogging suit that cost $135 in 1984 (I’m guessing) would cost about $270 today. Also, something that cost $135 today would cost about $70 in 1984.

I personally only run if someone is chasing me with a weapon. Of course, in some neighbourhoods in North Bay, Ontario (where this strip is set) that is a distinct possibility.

It must be working. Elly’s butt looks much smaller than it was just last week when they were trying on the suits. Annie…not so much.

Right! You sure can’t be expected to jog without the proper sports wear.(sarcasm)

Did Annie and Elly get designer-sportswear? Even in Calgary today, I can get two jogging suits (+GST) for $135 total.

Maybe they’re including the cost of the shoes too.

That works, Macush–it would probably be about $90 of the $135.

YOU CAN DO IT!

The cost for jogging outfits is not that expensive? The price for those outfits should be less than $75 dollars. That’s odd! Oh well!
