The King makes a necessary point, but not a sufficient one. A lot of his fellow tyrants have used that justification to enforce their arbitrary whims.

Most people who ask for “less government” – at least in the US – think common defense and other “basic things” should be inviolate. What they want is less governmental intrusion beyond those “basic things”. And that’s where the arguments start.

I rather think fink’s simply washing his hands of the responsibility should the huns take over.

Does this mean the KING defends the kingdom personally?

Does this mean the KING fights the huns personally?

Or does this mean the king won’ t run and hide if the huns attack?

One of the FEW things our Constitution give to the federal government is to defend our boarders

That’s “borders,” not “boarders.” Of course, if “boarders” are those who post here, please protect us.

Ladywolf17, yes the king makes a good point.. People sometimes forget that government is necessary and important.

And, as the king indicates, one of the most important functions of government is protection of the people – not just protection from the “Huns” but from all who would do harm to the people.

Many years ago the king gave a different perspective (one all too close to reality). He follows they “Golden Rule.” That is: “He who has the gold makes the rules.” (Thisis one of the reasons the king of Id is so “loved” by the people of Id (are they called “Idiots”?)–“loved” meaning they love to throw things at him)

We all hate taxes, and laws, but then we want someone to enforce the law if we are in danger, and we want garbage pickup, and water out of the tap. We want a manager to make everything work well, also. Hence, “the King”. Joe Allan Doty- the only people who are really mad about others overhearing their phone calls are those who are speaking Erdu, Pashti, and Arabic. If you have nothing to hide, why are you whining?

See, the arguments have started already. :)

Of course this isn’t a political forum, and I didn’t mean to turn it into one, but I stand by my position. (I notice that no one has really answered it, let alone refuted it.) King Fink is anything BUT right, if he just stops there.

Politically speaking this is just a cartoon drawn and commented by Parker and Hart. If you want to have a political forum talk to your elected representatives, after all they work for you.

the kings outburst is appropriate here,at least once not being sleep inducing, that homeland security is the primadonna job of governance above everything else and not burdening citizens with irksome regulations and codes.
